Who we are...

At Horizon Family Hub, we’re families working for families. We’re dedicated to supporting adults with special needs by creating a warm, inclusive community where everyone can expand their social circle and engage in meaningful activities. Our passion stems from our own experiences, and every event and program is designed to build connections, celebrate individuality, and foster a supportive environment where every family feels valued.

Our Founder

Mary Fetterman, Founder & Mom

Horizon Family Hub began from a place of love—and a deep desire to create something better for our daughter, Hanna, and families like ours.

My husband and I are parents of three, including Hanna, who is our incredible special family member. Like many parents of young adults with disabilities, we found the transition out of high school to be unexpectedly challenging—especially during the isolation of COVID. Once Hanna graduated, it became painfully clear how difficult it was for her to stay connected with the peers she once saw every day. Making new friends? Even harder.

While we could host gatherings in our home, it wasn’t the same as having a space that truly belonged to her—a place where she could connect with friends, work on life skills, and feel proud to walk through the door. We envisioned something more: a true hub where Hanna and others like her could grow socially, feel a sense of ownership, and be surrounded by community.

That’s how Horizon Family Hub came to life.

Today, we offer social events and gatherings for adults with disabilities across Chester County, Pennsylvania. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for connection, joy, and growth—while also building toward something bigger. We are working to establish a dedicated space that feels like home to the individuals we serve—a place they can return to again and again with confidence and belonging.

The phrase “it takes a village” has never felt more true when your special family member moves into adulthood. As parents, we know that our adult children need a strong, supportive community—one that lifts them up and includes their families too. That’s what we’re building at Horizon Family Hub: a place where adults with disabilities and their families can feel seen, supported, and truly at home.

With gratitude,
Mary
