Dear Friends,
On this Giving Tuesday, I ask you to consider supporting Horizon Family Hub and our mission to help adults with intellectual disabilities in Chester County build more independent, connected lives.
For those who may not be familiar with this journey, here’s why this work matters so deeply:
- Up to age 21, individuals with disabilities receive structured support through the school system—daily programs, community activities, and goals that help them build independence.
- At 21, that support ends. This is often referred to as “falling off the cliff,” and it truly can feel that way—everything that was consistent, supported, and predictable suddenly drops away.
- While many individuals receive some government support, families take on the responsibility of creating meaningful routines, opportunities, and a fulfilling daily life for their adult children. Empty Nests don’t exist for these parents.
- Programs and employment options are available—but there simply aren’t enough, and families often have to assemble solutions on their own.
Horizon Family Hub was created to help fill this gap. We currently offer social opportunities, and our next steps include skills-building programs and a dedicated space where these adults and their families can learn, connect, and thrive together.
This is a big vision—and every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer.
If you’re able and feel inspired, we’d be grateful for your donation today. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations to Horizon Family Hub are tax deductible. Donate here.
And if donating isn’t possible, you can still make a meaningful impact by doing one small thing: Please share our fundraiser.
Send it to a friend, post it on social media, or forward it to someone who believes in building inclusive community—one person at a time.
Thank you for helping us grow, in whatever way you can.
Warmly,
Mary Fetterman
